Bebé, Forward

Portuguese forward Bebé has struggled to live up to expectations since his transfer to Premier League giants Manchester United in 2010. He spent time on loan in Turkey where he was temporarily suspended by the team for breaking curfew. And while on international duty in 2011, he suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury keeping him out of action for 6 months.

Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that he signed Bebé without seeing him play, after taking some advice from his scouts. Also, the transfer has been under investigation by the Portuguese authorities for possible corruption. All this has led many people to question whether Bebé really has the talent to live up to expectations. So far, he has only shown glimpses of his skill.

“I am very happy to be at Rio Ave. I hope I can relaunch my career and I will give everything I can to help the team finish well,” Bebe said. “Ferguson advised me to leave, so I could come back strong.”
