Diário de Notícias is reporting that Brazilian forward Paulo Henrique has agreed on personal terms with Sporting Lisbon on a loan deal that would expire at the end of this campaign. The deal includes an option to sign him to a permanent deal.

The 23-year-old is currently on his way to Lisbon to undergo medical exams and make the deal official, according to futebol website O Jogo. Henrique has played for several teams since leaving Atlético Mineiro in 2007.

He has been seldom used this season for his Turkish club, playing in 10 games in the League. But he did score an impressive goal against Benfica in the Champions League in 2011 for the Turkish side.

Henrique’s agent Frederico Pena described his client’s attributes to Diário de Notícias this way.

“His characteristics are similar to Hulk who is also a native of Paraíba. He is extremely strong, impressive physically, he resembles a weightlifter. He has good velocity and could score in every way: right foot, left, head, backend and chest. The ball hits him and goes in.”

It is believed that Henrique would act as a replacement for Ricky van Wolfswinkel who has been linked with several teams during this month’s transfer window.
