Portuguese international Sílvio was not named to the Atlético de Madrid’s squad that will train at Los Ángeles de San Rafael this week, fueling speculation that a move to Benfica is imminent.

The 25-year-old full-back has been linked with a move to the Estádio da Luz in recent weeks, likely on a loan deal. Jorge Jesus’ club has been in need of a left-back since the departure of Fábio Coentrão two years ago.

Former Portuguese international midfielder Tiago Mendes was part of the squad that will train under manager Diego Simeone. Winger Pizzi was also included in the squad despite being linked with Sporting Lisbon this summer.

Silvio moved to the La Liga club in 2011 after an impressive season at Sporting Braga. Injuries have hampered his development in the Spanish capital since then. He did play well in a short loan spell with Deportivo La Coruña this past season.
